Job description

Job title: Yard Operative Responsible to: Supervisor/Production Manager Ensure his/her own personal safety and the safety of others while loading and unloading stock.

Responsibilities

• Receipt of goods inward and storing of goods on allocated racking/area.
• Ensure the correct picking of customer orders for delivery.
• Ensuring yard area is kept tidy and potential hazards are removed.
• Ensure safe operation of Counter Balance Forklift.
• To report and record any accidents, dangerous occurrence or near miss to a member of management in line with company procedures.
• To develop and maintain good teamwork among staff, and ensure personal timekeeping and attendance.
• Top take part in training events that will enhance the skills required to undertake the duties of this role.
• To carry out any tasks or duties as deemed appropriate by management.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Previous yard experience.
• Manual handling skills.
