Job description
We are seeking a skilled Panel Builder to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling and wiring electrical panels, ensuring all components are correctly installed and functioning according to specifications. Responsibilities
- Building and assembling LV and MV switchgear in accordance with technical drawings.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate assembly.
- Cutting, stripping, crimping, and termination of cables to a high standard, following electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring schedules.
- Using hand tools, power tools, and surface mount technology where applicable.
- Install programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other control components within panels.
- Conduct electrical wiring, testing, and troubleshooting to verify functionality.
- Ensure all assembled panels meet safety standards and quality requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve assembly issues promptly.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Proven experience with electrical assembly, including wiring and component installation.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and surface mount technology (SMT) processes.
- Mechanical knowledge related to panel construction and component fitting.
- Experience with electrical systems and circuitry is highly desirable.
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Previous experience working with power tools in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
