Job description
The NICS comprises nine departments that support the Northern Ireland Executive and Ministers. We do this by developing and implementing government policies and legislation and delivering key public services in areas such as health public finances, social development, justice, education, regeneration, environment, culture, agriculture, economic development, employment and transport. In addition, the Public Prosecution Service is a non- Ministerial Department staffed by Civil Servants. All civil servants are appointed on merit and on the basis of fair and open competition. The NICS is seeking to fill vacancies within Driver and Vehicle Agency as Driving Examiners. Responsibilities
- The duties will primarily involve the testing of L drivers and may include the testing of certain classes of vocational drivers (LGV, PCV tests) as required by legislation.
- Examiners may also be required to carry out driving tests for potential driving instructors and assess the driving standard of employees of various Government bodies.
- Conduct driving tests for short periods at other DVA locations to assist meet business needs.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- By the closing date for applications, applicants must: Have a valid full Category B car driving licence for at least 3 years which enables the post holder to drive in the UK (please see the candidate information booklet).
- Not hold a driving licence with more than 3 penalty points, which the Agency believes to indicate a poor driving standard (please see the candidate information booklet).
- Not have been disqualified from driving in the last four years (please see the candidate information booklet).
