Job description
The main purpose of the role is to provide leadership and clinical expertise for structural heart patients as part of an integrated cardiology service based in acute services. The post holder will be responsible for undertaking specialist pre/assessment of patients, and ensuring appropriate cardiac investigations are requested to provide a high quality, seamless service for those patients being assessed for or awaiting structural heart procedure. To lead, develop and hold continuing responsibility for the assessment of individualized/complex care needs, the development, implementation, evaluation of programmes of care, and the setting of standards of care. To improve the management of patients undergoing structural heart procedures and avoid unnecessary hospital admissions. To provide a seamless service, between primary and secondary care. The post holder will be an integral member of the Cardiology team and will work flexibly within the team to ensure that the needs of cardiology patients are met. To network with key stakeholders and work in collaboration with the team to expand the service as required.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Registered on Part 1, Level 1 of thelive NMC Register (General Adult Branch). Five years as a registered nurse.
Desirable Skills
- Qualification in or experience of teaching in the Health Care setting.
- Demonstrate the ability to analyse activity and clinical research data.
