Construction and Building Maintenance Electrical Multi-Skilled Operative
Job description
To undertake general building maintenance duties with the ability to work across multiple trades, individually or as part of a team of other trades, for the daily operation of planned and reactive maintenance, and general repairs of Council’s property, plant and equipment that ensures compliance with relevant safety and construction legislation across multiple locations in the district. Responsibilities
- Carry out within defined timelines electrical works and a general range of multi-skilled trades duties including joinery, building, plastering, minor plumbing and electric works, etc
- Install, maintain, modify and test electrical installations and equipment in accordance with the current edition of BS7671; The Wiring Regulations, with amendments
- Carry out repairs and maintenance to electrical installations as directed
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to produce finished products/tasks and repairs to appropriate standards and quality
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- An electrician in possession of City and Guilds 2360 Parts I and II. Plus joint industry board (JIB) achievement measurement (AM) Parts I and II and NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
- Possess City and Guilds 2380 (BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations)
- Applicants must provide specific and personal examples of having at least 1 years’ relevant experience (post qualification), within the construction or building industry
