Dining Reservationist/Switchboard Operator
Job description
The main purpose of this position is to manage dining enquiries on behalf of Galgorm Collection. The Dining Reservationist role is busy & demanding at times, as you will be receiving calls for all of our Collection restaurants including; Gillies Grill, Fratelli Galgorm & Belfast, Parisien, The Rabbit Hotel & Retreat, The Old Inn and Roe Valley Resort. You will need to have a sound understanding of each individual restaurant including menus, seating plans, and serving times in order to assist with any dining query a guest may have. You will join a supportive team of Dining Reservationists, who work together to manage all incoming calls efficiently, providing a high level of customer service to all. Responsibilities
- Making and receiving calls for all collection restaurants and inputting these bookings onto our restaurant booking agent, Resdiary, ensuring all reservations are accurately recorded.
- Having full and complete knowledge of all restaurant's offerings and packages in order to upsell and deal with all client queries by phone.
- Ensuring that details of any allergies or dietary requirements are accurately recorded on each booking and communicated efficiently to restaurant managers and teams.
- Ensuring all other details of customer bookings are detailed correctly inc. special occasions or special requirements for the restaurant teams accordingly.
- Managing all restaurant service times and capacity levels ensuring that timeslots are not overbooked.
- Carrying out Reservations procedures as per the daily checklists.
- Carrying out any additional administrative duties as required.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Confident phone and IT skills include outlook, word, and excel.
- A sound administrative and customer service background with the ability to demonstrate skills in both.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Desirable Skills
- Previous food and beverage experience working in a restaurant.
- Previous experience using an online restaurant booking system.
- Previous reception or experience working in a call centre environment
- The desire to deliver outstanding customer service.
- A flexible approach to work.
