Job description

We are currently looking to recruit a Grounds Person who will assist the Maintenance & Estates Manager to ensure that the extensive grounds within the Resort are maintained and presented to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• As a member of the Estates Department the post holder will be required to carry out a wide range of general maintenance and horticultural duties at various locations throughout the Galgorm Resort, to include landscaped areas and open spaces.
• The post holder will assume other delegated duties appropriate to the post reasonably assigned by management.
• Responsible for the maintenance and housekeeping duties of Landscaped areas and Open Spaces in accordance with guidelines and standards.
• Safe, effective and appropriate use and daily maintenance (inspection, fuel, oil, fault reporting) of grounds maintenance equipment and machinery in line with Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Grass cutting operations. soil cultivation, fertilizing, site preparation and construction labouring. Horticultural operations such as the planting of trees, shrubs perennials, annuals and bulbs as directed.
• Hedge-cutting and trimming operations, clearing leaves and litter. Simple pruning to trees, shrubs and perennials and the handling and application of chemical sprays as directed.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Hold a full clean driving license.
• Have a positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills.

Desirable Skills

• Have a sense of pride in the delivery of Galgorm’s high standards of presentation and hygiene.
• Have a flexible approach to work.
