Night Porter
Job description
We are seeking to recruit a full-time Night Porter to join our dedicated Night Team here at The Old Inn. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable skills and join an award-winning company. Responsibilities
- Assisting guests in any way possible throughout the night including all reception and food & beverage service to the standard set by the hotel and to the satisfaction of guests.
- Acting as the responsible person for the hotel during overnight hours dealing with all guest requests, handling any complaints that may arise, and problem-solving.
- Maintaining a high level of security in the hotel and cooperation with all other departments throughout the night.
- Maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees and guests, performing systematic and regular patrolling of the hotel grounds.
- Dealing with disruptive or difficult guests accordingly and report any suspicious/unusual behaviour, calling the Police if necessary. Reporting any suspicious persons, activities, and hazardous conditions to hotel management.
- Issuing of keys only to correct personnel/residents.
- Carrying out porter procedures as per the nightly checklists as set out by the Accommodation Manager.
- Being able to give a clear and concise handover at the end of a shift, highlighting any events that have occurred and forthcoming events.
- Setting up conference rooms in full accordance with the guidelines of the corresponding business sheet.
- Maintaining a clean and smart appearance at all times.
- Acting as an ambassador for the Resort and displaying a commitment to enhancing the customer experience.

- Be fully conversant and compliant with Health and Safety, Fire, and Security policy and procedures including acting as Chief Fire Warden while on shift
- Attend any training that has been set up to aid your personal development.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Hold adequate IT skills & preferably previous experience using service software.
- A desire to deliver excellent customer service.
Desirable Skills
- Previous hospitality experience.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Previous experience in a food & beverage role.
