Job description

The jobholder will be responsible to the Assistant Director of Family Support and Safeguarding for the delivery of high quality public health nursing services in the Southern Trust area. He / She will be responsible for the operational management of the following services: health visiting, school nursing, family nurse partnership, safeguarding children nurse specialist team, the Northern Ireland New Entrant Service (NINES), Child Health Bureau, Nurse Consultant for Public Health, specialist Service for Ethnic Minorities and the admin service including preschool and school health records teams. Responsibilities

• Lead uni and multidisciplinary teams and oversee the coordination of all processes to ensure the delivery of high quality public health nursing services etc
• Support the Assistant Director with the successful implementation of all commissioning priorities and targets for public health nursing services etc
• Support the Assistant Director for the discharge of delegated statutory functions in areas under his/her management
• Support the Assistant Director by ensuring robust arrangements for corporate parenting

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Hold a nursing qualification and be on the third part of the NMC live register AND have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a senior management role in a major complex organisation
• Have delivered against challenging performance objectives for a minimum of 2 years meeting a range of key targets and making significant3 improvements
