At Rose Lodge Care Home you will assist in managing the provision of a catering service within the home with particular emphasis on the planning, preparing, cooking and serving of meals ensuring all activities and operations comply with operational standards and statutory regulations. The role of our Chef/Cook is to ensure residents receive a varied, appealing, wholesome and nutritious diet, you should have knowledge of specialised diets to ensure our residents receive food, including liquidised meals which is suited to individual assessed and recorded requirements. Food, including liquidised meals, must be presented in a manner which is attractive and appealing in terms of texture, flavour and appearance, in order to maintain appetite and nutrition.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the kitchen, including daily food prep, cooking, and plate presentation
• Create menus that meet Chef’s specifications
• Ensure that all food prepared is of high quality and meets Rose Lodge Care Home high quality

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• NVQ level 3
• 2 years experience in a similar role
