Personal Care Assistant


Job description

As a Personal Assistant, your primary responsibility is to provide assistance and support to an individual who requires help due to their medical condition. You will play a crucial role in empowering the individual to live independently and improve their quality of life. Hours flexible and to be discussed with Employer pending interview - availability required Monday - Friday, with occasional weekends Access to own vehicle preferable, but not necessary

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the individual by identifying and addressing potential hazards or risks in the environment.
  • Monitor the individuals' health status and report any changes or concerns to the employer.
  • Offer emotional support and companionship to the individual.
  • Prompt, assist and supervise with meal preparation and during meal time.
  • Assist with household tasks and duties.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Friendly and approachable in manner.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy towards individuals facing challenges.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedule.

Desirable Skills

  • Relevant experience or qualifications in healthcare, social work, or a related field may be beneficial.
