Project and Delivery Manager

Job description

Bia Analytical is a science led organisation working at the intersection of food safety, risk, innovation and digital insight. We deliver bespoke analytical testing, lead R&D and innovation programmes, and develop digital platforms that translate complex scientific and data driven outputs into actionable insight for industry. As our portfolio of projects, platforms and innovation initiatives continues to grow, we are creating a new Programme & Delivery Manager role to strengthen how work is scoped, prioritised and delivered across the organisation. This is a newly created, senior role responsible for coordinating and enabling delivery across Bia Analytical’s portfolio of projects and innovation initiatives. You will work across a diverse range of activity including bespoke client projects, internal platform development (such as REIMS and the Risk Dashboard), and early stage innovation work including proofs of concept (PoCs), pilots and R&D funded activity. The role spans the full lifecycle, from early scoping and readiness through to delivery oversight and continuous improvement. This role focuses on internal coordination, delivery readiness and operational enablement. It works in close partnership with Customer Success and technical teams but does not own commercial customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage visibility of Bia Analytical’s project, platform and innovation portfolio
  • Support prioritisation across multiple concurrent initiatives, balancing capacity, dependencies, timelines and value
  • Provide clear reporting on progress, milestones, risks and delivery readiness to senior stakeholders
  • Support informed decision making on sequencing, trade offs and investment focus
  • Lead early stage project discovery and scoping, including requirements gathering and feasibility assessment
  • Support the design and progression of PoCs, pilots and R&D initiatives from idea through to delivery ready plans
  • Translate technical, scientific or data driven concepts into structured delivery approaches

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience managing multiple projects or programmes in parallel
  • Background in project or programme management within technical, scientific, digital or R&D led environments
  • Experience working on early stage or innovation led initiatives (e.g. PoCs, pilots, new platforms or products)
  • Formal project or programme management qualification desirable but not essential
  • Highly organised, pragmatic and delivery focused
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and shaping work that is not fully defined
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Confident balancing strategic oversight with hands on coordination
