Job description

As a Support Worker at our Rosewood Court service in Lisburn, you’ll be at the heart of that mission, providing hands-on care and emotional support to people with learning disabilities and complex needs. About the Role You’ll play a key role in day-to-day life at Rosewood Court, where your support makes a real difference. This is a varied, rewarding, and physically active role that involve :Behavioural support: engaging in personal safety techniques where required and working in line with individual risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a trusting and professional relationship with the people who use our services and act in a supportive and empathetic nature towards them.
• Display compassion and sensitivity to the people who use our services’ and next of kin needs.
• Contribute towards a harmonious and therapeutic environment.
• Support the people who use our services to manage their physical health, mental health and wellbeing through the development and implementation of an individual support plan.
• Identifies problems and issues and work with the people who use our services to provide the most appropriate solutions to promote wellbeing for all.
• Personal care including showering, bathing, changing, toileting etc.
• Practical care feeding support, assistance with drinks and medication.
• Laundry, cleaning, general house maintenance, and completing daily notes.
• Offering emotional support and helping to create a calm, homely environment.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• To be willing to work various shifts, which may include days, nights, evenings and weekends.
• Experience of supporting an individual with household tasks and/or providing emotional support
• Knowledge and understanding of intellectual disability issues.

Please note, from the 1st April 2026, the following new minimum wage rates will apply: 16-17 £8.00, 18-20 £10.85, 21 plus £12.71 per hour.
