Job description

The Tyre Fitting and Maintenance Academy is an intensive three week training course delivered by Northern Regional College (NRC), providing practical knowledge and real-world experience required to work in the sector. Delivery will primarily be in-person, supported by guest speakers and facilitated placement visits to employment settings. Those selected for the academy will study IMI Level 2 Unit Accreditation training modules: health and safety and chassis systems. The academy training will develop sector relevant skills including changing brake pads and discs, track rod ends/steering arms, shock absorbers and suspension components. The academy will allow participants to apply their learning in real-world settings. Participants will receive a weekly training allowance of £185 for the duration of the academy, as well as help with travelling and childcare expenses where people qualify. If you successfully complete the academy, you will be guaranteed a job interview with a supporting company. An interview is not a guarantee of a job. Training will take place from Monday 8 June until Friday 26 June 2026 in Northern Regional College's Ballymena campus. Training takes place from 9.00 am to 5.00pm every weekday, with days on campus, on placement, and working from home. Successful applicants must be available for the whole of the training period.
