Job description

To provide a high quality Mental Health Service for the Trust's Adult (Under 65) population in the Recovery Mental Health Service, promoting effective inter disciplinary and inter-agency relationships and acting as a link between clients, professionals and other services to ensure continuity of care. Responsibilities

  • To function as independent practitioner while contributing to the work of the multi-disciplinary mental health team.
  • To complete comprehensive psycho-social assessments on an ongoing basis and for all new referrals/transfers into Mental Health Services.
  • To participate as an integral member of a multi-disciplinary team in referral discussion meetings as appropriate.
  • To assess nursing care needs and liaise with the referring agent regarding outcome, within agreed timescales.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Level 1 Registered Mental Health Nurse on the live NMC Register.
  • 2 years post registration experience in mental health nursing in a formal setting.

Desirable Skills

  • 6 months or more experience of working within an Adult Mental Health acute in-patient/crisis facility. Holder of a post-graduate diploma or equivalent qualification in Mental Health Nursing Specialism such as CPN, PSI, CBT, Addictions Studies.
