Job description
The Macmillan Palliative Care Facilitator will be responsible for the implementation of a learning and development infrastructure within the Western Health and Social Care Trust (WHSCT) and through education and training, ensure that a high quality, responsive and co-ordinated palliative care service is delivered to service users and their carers. He or she will work collaboratively with private, statutory, independent and voluntary sectors to ensure people are treated as individuals with dignity and respect and where possible managed in their preferred place of care. This post holder will be required to provide 20% clinical time working within the specialist palliative care teams across the WHSCT.
Responsibilities
- Work within the NMC Guidelines and Standards for professional nursing practice guidelines.
- Participate in working groups including leading those where appropriate.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Level 1 Registered Nurse (Adult) on the live NMC Register.
- Must be willing to undertake Specialist Practice Qualification.

Desirable Skills
- Have a teaching qualification.
- Evidence of Post registration study in Palliative Care.
