Join a crèche in Portstewart as a Cook and prepare nutritious, balanced meals within a caring early years environment. You will play a key role in supporting children’s wellbeing while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve healthy meals and snacks suitable for young children.
• Ensure meals meet nutritional guidelines and support children’s health and wellbeing.
• Cater for special dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural needs as required.
• Ensure food is prepared and served safely and at appropriate temperatures.
• Plan menus in line with crèche policies and budgets.
• Order food supplies and manage stock levels to minimise waste.
• Work closely with crèche staff to support children’s needs.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Experience working as a Cook or in a food preparation role.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling practices.
• Ability to plan and prepare nutritious meals.
• As part of the Recruitment & Selection process it will be necessary to carry out an Enhanced Disclosure Check through Access NI before any appointment to this post can be confirmed.
