Job description
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for our client Survitec a global leader in Survival Technology, based in Dunmurry. Survitec designs, manufactures and services safety and survival equipment for the marine and aerospace industries. Employing 3,000 people across the globe, it is a long established company, and is the world’s largest provider of survival technology. This role supervises a team of Customer Service Representatives to maintain proactive relationships with key customers and internal stakeholders. It creates a productive service environment which drives a customer-focused culture and engaged team and serves as a subject expert in complex quotes and queries This family manufactures safe, reliable, high quality survival technology and protective wear for a broad range of customer sectors and needs. They are focused on driving safety through innovation and manufacturing excellence This role designs, integrates or improves manufacturing systems and related processes. It works with commercial or industrial designers to refine manufacturing designs and materials.
Responsibilities
- Contributes to the analysis of design information to specific manufacturing methods, process steps, plant, machinery, and equipment required to set up, run and continuously improve manufacturing or materials processes to cost and quality standards.
- Contributes to the design of engineering solutions; designs feasibility testing approach and supervises its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.
- Drafts engineering standards and specifications, evaluates the effectiveness of those standards within own engineering discipline to inform engineering work within the organisation and within third-party manufacturing partners.
- Carries out inspections to evaluate the quality of engineering works and the integrity of existing installations or structures; specifies remedial works or improvements needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Manages day-to-day relationships with a range of stakeholders including design engineers, manufacturing colleagues, QHSE, third-party manufacturing partners and contract service providers while working within an established contract management plan.
- Identifies shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and uses established change management programs to address them.
- Maintains accurate and up to date manufacturing engineering records within the knowledge management system; helps others get the most out of this bank of knowledge by offering support and advice.
- Carries out a range of product development and engineering activities; uses established systems to analyse customer needs and define and deliver customer-centric manufacturing guidelines / instructions.
