Job description

This post holder will be a member of the ENT multidisciplinary team and run Otology Nurse Led clinics. The post-holder will provide a resource of specialist nursing skills, knowledge and expertise in the care and management of Otology and lateral skull base conditions. The post holder will work closely with the multidisciplinary teams and other agencies and will initiate, develop and implement effective approaches to meet the needs of these patients. Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist nursing skills, knowledge and expertise in the care and management of otology and skull base conditions
  • Lead on Nurse Led Otology clinics including post-operative reviews, and the monitoring and management of adults with a range of ENT and skull base conditions as deemed suitable by consultants
  • Develop clinical expertise and be knowledge in specific aspects of care of patients with Otology conditions in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • To ensure continuity of a high standard of evidence-based nursing care, by identifying and initiating appropriate steps for effective care

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Registered Adult Nurse Part 1 live on NMC Register for minimum of 5 years
  • BSc (Hons) in a Health-related subject
  • Have completed (or are willing to complete) a Postgraduate Certificate in Non-medical Prescribing
  • A minimum of 3 years Band 6 experience in ENT services with clinical experience of managing patient with complex Otology conditions

Desirable Skills

  • Post Graduate Qualification in Non- Medical Prescribing
  • Ability to act as role model and clinical educator to other clinical staff within their sphere of practice

Further Information

Location: Royal Victoria Hospital. Salary: £47,810 - £54,710 per annum pro rata.
