Job description

We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated Part Time Pre School Assistant to join our friendly early years team. This is a rewarding role for someone who loves helping young children learn, play, and grow in a safe and nurturing environment. You will support the Pre School Leader in delivering high quality, play based learning experiences and ensuring every child feels valued, supported, and excited to explore the world around them.

Responsibilities

• Support with planning and delivering engaging, age appropriate activities.
• Foster children’s social, emotional, and educational development.
• Supervise indoor and outdoor play, encouraging curiosity and creativity.
• Assist with meat times, toileting, and daily routines to ensure children’s welfare.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Experience working with young children in an early years, nursery, or school setting and qualified to at least Level 3 in Child Care and Education.
• Experience of carrying out observations of children to monitor development, interests and next steps.
• Contribute to the short and medium term planning based on children’s individual needs and observations.
• Good communication skills.
• Understanding of child development and safeguarding responsibilities.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Desirable Skills

• Paediatric First Aid training.
• Experience supporting children with additional needs.
