Job description

The post holder will work as an integral part of the ward team. He / she will be responsible for ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment for patients and their families. He / she will carry out designated duties under the direction of a qualified nurse, assisting in the provision and enhancement of patient care. He / she will also be responsible for overseeing adequate levels of supplies and that all equipment is properly registered and appropriately maintained. The post holder will be the named departmental equipment controller under the supervision of the Ward / Department manager. He / she will order and serve meals and provide refreshments as well as assisting those patients who require help at mealtimes. Ensure daily and weekly cleaning schedules are maintained.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• 1 years’ experience working in either a healthcare environment or the hospitality industry.
• Food hygiene Certificate.

Desirable Skills

• Experience of Working in an Acute Hospital Setting
