To provide administrative, clerical and secretarial support to the Minister, Kirk Session, Congregational Committee and organisations of Ballycrochan Presbyterian Church.
Responsibilities
- Provision of administrative and secretarial support to the Minister and Community Outreach Worker.
- Provision of administrative and secretarial support to the Kirk Session, the Congregational Committee and Church Organisations.
- Maintaining and updating database of Church congregation on the Omega system. This includes changing addresses, adding new members, deleting those who are no longer members.
- Ensuring that Church records comply with GDPR requirements
- Typing and printing of the weekly order of service.
- Maintaining an appropriate filing system.
- Website editing and maintenance.
- Preparation of various mail shots at Christmas, Easter and Autumn.
- Preparation of church envelopes for distribution.
- Checking emails on a regular basis and taking appropriate action as required.
- Recording of communion attendance.
- Ordering stationery and other office requisites as required.
- Inputting all envelope funds onto computer using the Church Omega system and ensuring the back up of the system is carried out every Friday.
- Such other duties as may be assigned within the level of the post.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Five GCSEs Grade C or above including English and Maths
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work unsupervised and show initiative
- Ability to anticipate and plan
- Ability to maintain efficient record-keeping
- Excellent oral and written skills
- At least one year’s experience in a similar role
- Applicants will be required to demonstrate at interview a working knowledge of one of the following: Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and Google
Desirable Skills
- Experience in the use of a variety of IT systems such as Omega or similar and experience of using a variety of databases
