Job description
Community Services Officer - Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG) - Subject to Funding. The post holder will assist the Policing and Community Safety Officer to fully and effectively deliver the EVAWG Action Plan 2026-2028, including the implementation of specific projects or programmes as required. Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- 2 A Levels OR an equivalent level 3 qualification in a relevant subject eg Business / Project Management or Community Development. The applicant must demonstrate the relevance of the qualification they wish to be considered.
- A minimum of two years’ relevant experience in project /event management and/or a project/event support role to include experience in governance, risk management, performance and budgeting.
- A minimum of two years’ relevant experience in administering the grant application process, criteria and awarding and monitoring of grants.
- A minimum of two years’ relevant experience in promoting projects/events through marketing and communication.
- A minimum of two years’ relevant experience in applying for and securing funding to deliver projects within a community related area.
- A minimum of two years’ relevant experience in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), SharePoint and databases
- Full current driving licence and use of a car, or access to a form of transport that allows you to meet the requirements of the role.
- Be prepared to work outside of normal working hours at weekends, evenings and public holidays as dictated by the needs of the service.
- Access to a good internet and WIFI service if working from home or on a hybrid basis.

Desirable Skills
- HND / Foundation Degree or equivalent Level 5 qualification in a relevant subject eg Business / Project Management or Community Development. The applicant must demonstrate the relevance of the qualification they wish to be considered.
- Experience of reporting and auditing functions.
- Experience of utilising public funding.
- Experience of undertaking post project evaluations.
- Delivery or assisting the delivery of funded programmes.

This is a temporary post for up to 2 years (may be extended) and is subject to funding. Applications for this post will be channelled exclusively through Council’s GETGOT system.
