Job description

The Playgroup Leader will be responsible for the day to day running of the playgroup session to ensure safe, stimulating play and to provide for the needs of all children. This will involve planning, preparing and delivering play based activities appropriate for children aged 3 - 4 years.

Responsibilities

• To plan short, medium and long term planning for the setting.
• The management and development of staff.
• Maintain a clean, safe and stimulating environment.
• Liaise with, inform and support the management committee.
• Call regular weekly staff and planning meetings
• Ensure good standards of hygiene are followed and that equipment is safe and regularly checked as recommended in DHSSPS guidance.
• Keeping up-to-date records as stipulated by DHSSPS and the Department of Education
• Ensure all parents are kept fully informed of their child’s overall development within the group

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Level 5 CCLD qualification or equivalent early years qualification will also be considered.
• Minimum 2 years paid experience in a early years setting specifically working with children aged 3-4 years.

Desirable Skills

• At least 1 years experience in a leadership or management role in a early years setting.
