Administrative & Financial Officer
Job description
Reporting to the Parish Priest the role entails provision of administrative and financial support. This will be inclusive of a range of administrative duties, including the maintenance of Parish and parishioner records, payment of accounts due and maintenance of accurate and timely financial records using Lifetime Computerised Systems.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining the financial records of the Parish using Lifetime Accounting System, to include recording all Parish Income and Expenditure, reconciliation of Parish bank accounts and producing financial reports from the system as required.
- Completion of the Annual Financial Summary of Income & Expenditure from the financial records.
- Overseeing the annual allocation and distribution of weekly collection envelopes.
- Accurate recording of donations to the parish in the form of weekly envelope collections and collating the information required to complete the Gift Aid claims.
- Responsibility for banking of all parish funds.
- Obtaining quotations for goods and services for the parish and verification and payment of all parish invoices.
- Submit payroll changes including notification of parish sickness absences to the Diocesan Office by the 14th of each month.
- Pay all employees in the parish and forward payslips by the 21st of each month.
- General administrative duties.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Applicants must possess a minimum of 5 GCSE’s including Maths and English to grade C, or equivalent.
- Relevant administrative experience/have worked in an office environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of database systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of GDPR.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of Lifetime Parish Management Systems, knowledge of Gift Aid.
