BelfastSouth is seeking to recruit a Digital Programme Lead to join our Digital Team. This post forms part of a two-person Digital Programme Lead structure, working collaboratively to deliver our Digital Programme across South Belfast. The successful candidate will work alongside an existing post holder, sharing responsibility for programme delivery, development and outcomes. The purpose of this role is to jointly manage, coordinate and deliver BelfastSouth’s Digital Programme across South Belfast. As a Digital Programme Lead, you will play a key role in delivering hands-on, participant-centred digital projects and programmes that inspire individuals, raise aspirations, build confidence and develop digital and creative skills. You will support children and young people, particularly those from disadvantaged communities, to increase their digital skills, awareness and opportunities. Through the use of digital tools and creative technologies, you will facilitate learning, creativity and personal development, contributing to improved life chances and outcomes. Successful applicants will be required to undertake and successfully complete training in digital fabrication to support the delivery of OCN-accredited courses.

Responsibilities

  • Jointly manage and oversee all aspects of the Digital Programme, including evening, weekend and holiday provision as required. Plan, develop and deliver a range of digital programmes and activities aligned to BelfastSouth’s digital strategy.
  • Deliver and/or coordinate training across a range of digital platforms and technologies including (but not limited to): digital fabrication, coding, CAD, gaming, digital media, photography, film, VR and 3D printing.
  • Deliver accredited and non-accredited training, workshops and activities. Ensure all delivery is participant-centred, inclusive and responsive to need.
  • Engage children and young people, particularly those from disadvantaged and ‘hard to reach’ groups. Support participants to build confidence, skills and aspirations. Facilitate and support youth voice and participation, including advisory group.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with community organisations, schools, youth groups and partners. Work collaboratively to deliver a wide-ranging digital skills programme across South Belfast. Represent BelfastSouth positively.
  • Lead and/or contribute to participant recruitment and engagement. Support and deliver PR and marketing campaigns to promote programmes and activities. Contribute to social media, website and digital communications. Capture and share programme.
  • Monitoring, evaluation and reporting. Programme coordination and administration.
  • Source, coordinate and support external trainers where required. Contribute to the coordination of delivery staff and volunteers. Manage and maintain equipment and resources, including set-up, storage and auditing.
  • Financial responsibility. Safeguarding and compliance. Support the organisation and delivery of events, showcases and exhibitions. Promote participant achievements and programme impact.
  • Work collaboratively with the BelfastSouth team. Contribute to wider organisational priorities and activities. Participate in team meetings and planning processes.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Demonstrable experience of working with children and young people from areas of disadvantage.
  • Knowledge and experience of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of delivering or supporting digital skills training and/or creative digital activities.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of digital and creative industries pathways. Experience of working in community or education settings. Experience of accredited training (e.g. OCN).
  • Motivational Skills: Able to demonstrate an interest in and enthusiasm for supporting the personal development of young people and improving their life opportunities.
  • Experience of using digital technologies and/or digital fabrication equipment.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage workload.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.
