Job description

The post holder is accountable to the Manager/Senior Nurse for providing a catering service for the scheme. This involves preparing, cooking and presenting high quality food quickly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen at all times.
• To supervise, mentor and motivate kitchen assistants.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• QCF/NVQ Level 2 in Catering or alternative equivalent qualification in catering.
• 6 months' experience working as a professional cook OR a minimum of 1 year's experience working as a professional cook if you do not hold the above qualification.
• Experience of overseeing the day-to-day operation of a professional kitchen.
