Accountant based in Toomebridge.

Responsibilities

• EndtoEnd Accounting.
• Prepare statutory accounts, annual and quarterly tax returns in compliance with current MTD regulations, corporation tax returns, and VAT for a diverse client base.
• Staying informed about changes in accounting regulations and best practices, applying updates to internal processes and documentation.
• Advisory: Act as the first point of contact for clients, providing insights on cash flow, tax planning, and business growth.
• Cloud Migration: Lead clients in transitioning to Xero and Sage for Making Tax Digital.
• Mentorship: Support and review the work of our junior technicians.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of experience within a UK or ROI accountancy practice and comfortable with handling everything from sole traders to Ltd Companies.
• Familiarity with HMRC regulations and Northern Ireland’s business landscape.
• Knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and compliance standards
• Proficiency in accounting software, such as Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.

Desirable Skills

• Qualified: IATI, ACA, ACCA, or other relevant Accountancy qualification is preferable or qualified by experience.
• At least 2 years of experience within a UK or ROI accountancy office.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of identifying and resolving financial discrepancies.
• Excellent communication skills, you must be comfortable explaining complex tax issues in plain English to our clients.
