Job description

The role of the Housekeeper is to work within the Domestic and Laundry departments as and when required while also working within the Christian ethos of Trinity House.

Responsibilities

• To clean and tidy toilets and bathrooms
• To clean and tidy bedrooms and make beds as required
• To clean and tidy corridors and sitting rooms
• To clean and tidy offices, treatment rooms etc.
• To follow procedures for the appropriate disposal of waste
• To use all equipment according to appropriate instructions
• To maintain dignity, respect and confidentiality as required
• To support care staff in meeting the needs of the residents
• To respect the personal needs and wishes of the residents at all time
• To follow appropriate health and safety procedures.
• To maintain written records as required
• To wash, iron, itemise and distribute residents’ clothes
• To wash and iron all household laundry e.g. sheets, pillowcases, napkins etc
• Minor sewing repairs
• Ensure that all appliances are kept in good order and free from abuse, in compliance with Health and Safety regulations
• To carry out any other reasonable duty such as Cleaning Duties as required by the management of the Home, which is necessary for the support and well-being of the residents

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Evidence and understanding of and respect for the needs of older people
• Awareness of health and safety practices within a working and residential environment
• Willingness to work additional hours to meet the requirements of the Home
• All applicants must be willing to behave in a manner which respects the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland

Work Time: Shifts are 8am - 1pm or 1pm - 6pm worked on a rota basis. We are an equal opportunities employer.
