We are seeking an experienced and inspiring music facilitator to lead CAMS’ ongoing community choir, Thyme to Sing. The role requires strong choir leadership skills, the ability to adapt repertoire and teaching approaches to meet diverse needs, and a commitment to creating a welcoming, supportive environment aligned with CAMS’ ethos.
Responsibilities
- Engaging sessions that support participants of varying abilities and backgrounds
- The facilitator will be responsible for delivering inclusive, engaging sessions that support participants of varying abilities and backgrounds, fostering wellbeing, confidence, and social connection through music.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Require strong choir leadership skills
- Hold a relevant qualification in music, drama, creative arts, community arts or equivalent.
- Have a minimum of two years’ experience delivering creative programmes within mental health, community or trauma-informed settings.
- Demonstrate experience of working with individuals affected by trauma.
- Hold professional indemnity and public liability insurance (£5 million minimum).
Desirable Skills
- Experience of working in community or health-focused settings would be highly desirable.

Evaluation Criteria - Music and Drama Facilitators (Total Score: 100) Relevant qualifications and training - 20 Experience delivering trauma-informed creative programmes - 20 Experience working with victims/survivors of the Troubles - 15 Ability to design inclusive and adaptable programmes - 10 Evidence of continuing professional development - 10 Professional insurance (£5m minimum) - 5 Child and Adult Safeguarding training - 5 Mental Health First Aid / ASIST or equivalent - 5 GDPR, confidentiality and health & safety awareness - 5 Availability and flexibility - 5 Trauma Informed Practice Requirements All services commissioned through this tender must be delivered in line with trauma-informed principles and VSS guidance, demonstrating: An understanding of the impact of conflict related trauma Safe, respectful and choice based engagement Appropriate boundaries, consent and safeguarding awareness Clear referral and escalation processes

Contract Period: 1 June 2026 - 31 March 2027 (with the possibility of extension, subject to continued funding) Funding Body: Victims and Survivors Service (VSS) Closing Date: 12 noon on 22nd May 2026 Submission Method: Hard copy submissions only TENDER SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS - Submissions must be provided in hard copy only - One copy per role applied for (unless applying for multiple roles) - Clearly mark the sealed envelope with the relevant service area(s) Submissions must include: - Curriculum Vitae - Copies of qualifications and certificates (in order of attainment) - Evidence of professional membership (where applicable) - Proof of professional insurance - Evidence addressing all scoring criteria - Two references (contacted only if successful) Failure to follow the required format will render the tender non compliant. Assessment and reserve list Tenders will be assessed by a panel appointed by CALMS. Applicants must achieve: - 90 plus for complementary roles - 80 plus for all other roles in order to be placed on the CALMS Reserve List.
