Group Logistics Assistant
Job description
The role of the Group Logistics Assistant is to support the day-to-day running and continued development of Creative Gardens’ operational and logistical requirements. The jobholder will assist with order fulfilment of items sold on its website, for example picking and palletising a BBQ for dispatch. This role will also support the wider logistical requirements of the garden centre operations, for example unloading deliveries of stock for the warehouse and distribution of stock to each of our 4 garden centre locations as well as some direct customer deliveries for our Logwood and Galgorm locations. The successful applicant will enjoy a practical job with some basic computer use for stock control purposes. They’ll enjoy driving our company van and forklift and being on the road delivering to customers as required as well as regularly working with the teams at all our locations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain tidy, safe and organised warehouse at our Logwood location.
- Unload deliveries for Logwood warehouse and garden centre as required.
- Use of the companies stock controls system to book in deliveries.
- Use of the companies stock control system to transfer stock between locations as required.
- Customer deliveries for both our Logwood and Galgorm centres.
- Coordinate stock transfers for customer orders between all garden centre locations as directed.
- Pick and pack of bulky items for courier collections from our Logwood location.
- Assist with organising storage areas and maintaining packing materials and operational supplies.
- Complete reports and administrative duties as required by the Marketing Manager.
- Perform any other related duties as may reasonably be required from time-to-time.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Previous experience in retail, fulfilment, logistics or a similar operational role.
- Basic computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office, web-based systems and general internet applications.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Experience dealing with customers, suppliers or third-party service providers in a professional manner.
- Ability to work independently, use initiative and problem solve effectively.
- Ability to undertake practical duties which may include lifting, carrying, stock movement and lightweight warehouse support tasks.
- As this role requires driving company vehicles for insurance purposes all drivers must be at least 21 years of age.
- A clean driving license with no more than 3 penalty points.
Desirable Skills
- Experience using website e-commerce systems.
- Experience with logistical operations such as stock transfers, booking courier dispatches for items and liaising with customers and suppliers around any operational issues.
Further Information
This is a permanent position, with contracted hours negotiable between 32-40 hours per week so could suit someone looking for part time or full time work. Working week will be Monday - Friday.
