Woodgate Aviation NI Ltd has been operating in Northern Ireland since 1969 we are delighted to offer an apprenticeship in aircraft maintenance and to join our Part 145 Maintenance Team. Currently the company maintains DA62’s, Kingair’s, PA31 Chieftains, BN2Ts and Learjets. We are currently seeking to recruit Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Technicians to join us from September 2026. The successful candidates shall begin inspecting and repairing aircraft and aircraft components receiving mentorship from our team of dedicated maintenance engineers and mechanics. You'll need to be a strong communicator with an awareness for safety. Above all, a genuine passion for engineering and aviation is a must. If the candidate has no further education they will be enrolled in a Level 2 apprenticeship. If the candidate has completed further education to a minimum of 2 A Levels they can be enrolled on a Level 3 apprenticeship. Level 2 candidates will complete Engineering. Level 2 apprenticeship framework with Pathway one aeronautical engineering, subject to availability. Level 3 candidates will complete Engineering. Level 3 apprenticeship framework with Pathway one, aeronautical engineering, subject to availability. In event of unavailability a similar course will be offered with the same outcome of Aircraft Technician. The course offered will be either based in NI or mainland UK. If mainland UK there will be allocated time away from NI. This is a 2 year programme and if the apprentice is on level 2 then they can then proceed to a level 3 apprenticeship which would be another 2 years. Once an apprentice has completed their apprenticeship, they would be classed as an Aircraft Technician. They can then proceed to gain a UK CAA Category A Aircraft Maintenance Licence.
