Job description

The post holder will be responsible for processing the Early Years Salary Service, ensuring accurate and timely payment, and maintaining payroll records. They will also support the Head of Finance Services with processing employee payroll. Please see employer website for full job details & person specification.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end payroll processing for 80 plus salary service clients on Sage 50 payroll.
  • Maintaining accurate payroll records, including tax codes, deductions, and pensions.
  • Ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and filing RTI submissions.
  • Responding to payroll queries from clients and external agencies.
  • Supporting the Head of Finance Services with processing the employee payroll.
  • Coordinating with HR and Finance departments to ensure payroll accuracy.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Experience of being responsible for multiple clients’ payroll.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in end-to-end payroll processing.
  • Strong knowledge of PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP, and other statutory payments.
  • Proficiency in Excel and payroll systems.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse financial information effectively.
  • Comfortable managing payroll-related queries from clients and employees.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with external organisations.

Desirable Skills

  • Good working knowledge of Sage 50 Payroll.
  • Experience of working in the voluntary sector.
