An opportunity has arisen with this leading Irish based electrical contractor specialising in critical power, data centre infrastructure, and off site manufacturing across Europe. They deliver mission critical projects for a range of customers across Europe and beyond. Their expertise spans industry sectors such as data centres, pharmaceuticals, renewables, power generation, critical infrastructure and more. They require an experienced Electrical Estimating Manager to join their growing team based out of their Derry/Londonderry office. This is a hands on leadership role with responsibility for managing the full estimating function, overseeing the production of Electrical tenders for both pre designed and design & construct projects, and ensuring the delivery of high quality, competitive submissions while working within a professional team environment.

Responsibilities

• Management of the estimating department, overseeing all new project enquiries from inception to submission.
• Setting up estimates, tender packs and applicable trackers, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all bids.
• Leading communication with internal stakeholders and external Suppliers & Clients throughout the tender process.
• Reviewing drawings and preparing take offs for LV MV Cabling and Containment systems.
• Overseeing the input of take offs and supplier quotations into relevant estimate formats.
• Producing and reviewing bills of quantities, schedules of work and contractors’ proposal documents to support bids.
• Managing the handover process to the operational delivery team, ensuring clarity and continuity.
• Developing strong inter departmental relationships, working closely with Contracts Managers, QS’s and the Design Engineering department.
• Supporting continuous improvement of estimating processes, systems and commercial governance. Providing guidance, mentoring and support to estimators within the team.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Strong commercial experience in an Estimator or Senior Estimator role, ideally within electrical and with team lead or supervisory experience.
• The ideal candidate will have worked on electrical projects and have electrical or HVAC background.
• Self motivated with the ability to ensure that project deadlines are achieved. Ability to work in a fast paced environment managing multiple tenders simultaneously.
• Ability to work on own initiative & as part of a team to manage workload efficiently. Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to engage confidently with clients and internal teams.
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and technical documentation. High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and commercial awareness.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel. Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non technical clients.

Desirable Skills

• Electrical estimating experience.
