This academy is a great way to get industry-recognised training before entering the workplace or changing career. The Software Sales Assured Skills Academy is an intensive eight-week training course providing practical knowledge and real-world experience required to work in the sector. Those who successfully finish Assured Skills Academies are guaranteed a job interview with participating companies. Responsibilities

• Assured Skills Academies offer short pre-employment training courses, designed in partnership with industry to give you the skills needed to compete for new employment opportunities in a range of exciting sectors
• Candidates selected to join the academy will receive practical skills, training and industry recognised qualifications in areas such as: Customer understanding, prospecting, pipeline execution, sales methodology, simulation for employment.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Be at least 18 years old at 2 July 2026.
• Have a right to work and to undertake Assured Skills Training in the UK at the point of application.
• Have been awarded at least a Foundation Degree in any subject at the point of application.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport quickly, be self-driven and resilient and motivated by targets, be organised with a disciplined approach to managing activity.

Desirable Skills

• Have a degree in business or engineering or IT or a related field, experience in a customer-facing role or interest in the technology or software sector.

Further Information

Applicants should note that the job roles available are not eligible for skilled worker sponsorship. Base salaries are in the range of £25,000 - £30,000 (companies may have additional commission/bonus incentives). Those taking part will get a weekly training allowance of £185 for the duration of the Academy, as well as help with travelling and childcare costs where people qualify. Belfast Metropolitan College (BMC) will invite eligible applicants to an information session and interview towards the end of June 2026. Training will take place from Monday 3 August to Friday 25 September 2026 at BMC’s E3 campus and will be classroom based from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm every weekday. Successful applicants must be available for the whole training period. Applications are welcome from everyone who meets the essential criteria and are particularly welcome from people returning to work after caring for their children or other family members.
