Assistant Finance Business Partner


Job description

Support the delivery of a high-quality finance business partnering service across Inspire Wellbeing by providing timely, accurate and insightful financial information. Contribute to effective decision-making by supporting Finance Business Partners and operational teams with reporting, analysis, budgeting and financial planning, helping ensure services are financially sustainable and aligned to organisational strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Support Finance Business Partners in delivering a proactive and value-adding finance service.
  • Build relationships with service managers and provide clear financial information to support decision-making.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
  • Ensure reporting is accurate, timely and relevant to users.
  • Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts, working with service managers to ensure assumptions are robust and aligned to operational plans. Assist with in-year reforecasting.
  • Analyse financial and operational data to identify trends, risks and opportunities. Support the development of business cases and financial modelling where required.
  • Support development and roll-out of finance systems and tools. Contribute to improving reporting, processes and data quality.
  • Support adherence to financial policies and procedures. Assist with audit processes and ensure compliance with funder and regulatory requirements
  • Assist in preparing financial information for funding applications, tenders and grant reporting, ensuring full cost recovery principles are applied.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • To be flexible as the role may involve working at various locations.
  • Either: Actively studying or interested in pursuing a professional finance qualification (CIMA, ACCA, AAT) Or: Minimum of two years’ experience in a finance role (e.g., accounts assistant, finance administrator, or similar).
  • Assisting in the preparation of management or statutory accounts and reporting against budget
  • Handling and analysing financial data using Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, and lookups).
  • Communicating financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
