Housing Regulation and Inspection Deputy Principal
Job description
The Postholder will be responsible for delivery of an annual programme of regulatory assessments of Registered Housing Associations (RHAs) against the standards contained in the Regulatory Framework. The Postholder will also be responsible for delivering an effective programme of inspections of the schemes delivered by RHAs via Social Housing Development Programme (SHDP) and disability adaptation projects.
Responsibilities
- Ensure effective delivery of a programme of high quality regulatory engagements and assessments which are risk-based and focused on ensuring compliance with the standards.
- Ensure effective delivery of a programme of high quality SHDP and adaptation inspections.
- Ensure that corporate approaches to quality assurance and control are consistently applied and that all outputs meet agreed quality standards.
- Take direction from the Head of Branch to ensure that workload is prioritised as required.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience of effective leadership, setting strategic direction and managing resources to successfully deliver business objectives in a complex and changing environment.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience of building constructive, positive and collaborative partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including senior management, to effectively deliver significant organisational objectives.
- At least 12 months’ experience of assessing findings to determine compliance with relevant legislation and/or a framework of standards.
- At least 12 months’ working knowledge of applying risk, control and corporate governance principles and their impact on the work of an organisation.
Desirable Skills
- If following eligibility sift, it is necessary to shortlist candidates to go forward to interview, the panel will carry out an objective evaluation of the information provided by candidates in response to eligibility criterion 4.
