Hands-on role delivering programmes for marginalised young people to include life skills and vocational training.
Responsibilities
- After-school arts workshops. Weekly evening drop-ins. Holiday programmes & summer schemes.
- Supporting a new social enterprise.
- Create opportunities for young people's voices to be heard.
- Liaise with relevant agencies to develop existing and new partnership working arrangements promoting diversity and interdependence within the community.
- Manage and support staff to work with young people to be active in climate change awareness training and developing community environmental projects.
- Compile monthly/annual reports and worksheets.
- Attend regular supervision meetings.
- To participate in training as and when required.
- To oversee and apply Safeguarding Policies and procedures.
- Identify relevant funding bodies, complete funding application forms and reports.
- Develop mentoring and volunteering programmes and supervise volunteers.
- Carry our relevant admin duties and ensure proper record keeping for all systems and funding in line with GDPR.
- Manage the Project Budget with the support of the treasurer and the Management Committee.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A relevant degree in Community Development, Health & Social Care and/or Youth Community Work and or Performing Arts.
- Two years' paid experience working in a Community Development, Health & Social Care and/or Community & Youth work settings.
- Ability to work enthusiastically on one's own initiative Competent in IT, Social Media and Video conferencing.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working directly with children and young people.
- Knowledge of Youth & Disabilities issues.
- Experience of managing a budget and completing funding applications.
- Experience of managing volunteers and developing young people as Mentors.
