Join the NI Housing Executive in Craigavon and play an important role as a GIS Technician, working within a team providing GIS and cartographic support in the delivery of Place Shaping /Regeneration Services. Support the regeneration functions of NIHE by producing lease maps, vesting maps, redevelopment maps, Board maps, flat/house sales maps as well as site surveys for land and property acquisition/sale. Responsibilities

• Support the regeneration functions of NIHE by producing lease maps, vesting maps, redevelopment maps, Board maps, flat/house sales maps as well as site surveys for land and property acquisition/sale.
• Editing and updating of NIHE digital land terrier system and NIHE grounds maintenance geographic data.
• Produce maps for many other NIHE departments, geographic data/mapping for external consultants and any other duties associated with the provision of a cartographic service to the Housing Executive.
• Contribute to Land Asset Management to provide a digital mapping system for the Land Asset Site Identification studies and Undeveloped Land Schedule.
• Maintenance of large paper based archive of OSNI maps, NIHE land terrier maps etc.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• BTEC Higher or equivalent qualification plus one year of relevant experience.
• Or BTEC National or equivalent qualification plus two years of relevant experience.
• Exceptionally, candidates who do not meet the qualification requirement, but who can demonstrate that they have 3 year’s relevant experience may also be considered.
• Experience of utilising GIS desktop software, preferably ArcMap 10.
• Experience of using GIS for data capture including digitising and editing.
• Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that enables them to meet the requirements of the post in full.
• As part of the reference checking and vetting process for this position you will be requested to undertake a Basic AccessNI Disclosure. Having a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining a position.
