Job description
At Omagh & Prospects CWS, we deliver therapeutic group support and 1:1 interventions to adults aged 18-65 with a wide range of mental health and addiction recovery needs. The people we support are working to rebuild confidence, reconnect with their community, and learn how to manage their wellbeing on their own terms- and you’ll be right beside them. This is a role where you’ll co-create groups, build trust, and support people through highs and lows. No two days look the same - and that’s exactly what makes it so meaningful.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a trusting and professional relationship with the people who use our services and act in a supportive and empathetic manner towards them.
- Contribute to and help maintain a harmonious and therapeutic environment.
- Support the people who use our services to manage their mental health, physical health and wellbeing through the development, implementation and monitoring of individual wellbeing and safety management plans.
- Actively encourage the involvement of the people who use our services in all aspects of decision-making, be sensitive and seek solutions to difficulties encountered by the people who use our services.
- Deliver care and support within the context of a social inclusion and recovery approach which is designed to work with people to find and maintain hope, re-establish a positive identity, build a meaningful life and take responsibility and control.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- To be flexible and work such hours as required by the post in order to meet the needs of the service.
- A full current driving licence and access to a car. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a licence.
- Be educated to QCF/NVQ Level 2, or equivalent, in a related subject e.g. Care and 6 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.
- OR: A minimum of 12 months' paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.
- Have proven experience of motivating, supporting and mentoring Service Users.
- Experience of maintaining service user and agency records.
- Working knowledge of using IT systems.
