Kitchen Assistant/Cook
Job description
Assist in the efficient production of high-quality food within the available budget, whilst maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness, as directed by the Cook. Ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately, and that the overall cleaning of the kitchen area is carried out effectively.
Responsibilities
- To ensure the efficient production of high-quality food within the available budget, whilst maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
- Covering Cook, provide for special dietary requirements where necessary, and take into account the preferences of individual residents.
- Maintain accurate records of food supplies, and freezer/fridge temperatures.
- Order stocks and check deliveries. Ensure stock rotation.
- Promote safe working practice in the kitchen. Comply with Health & Safety and Hygiene Regulations.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Enhanced Access NI to be completed by the successful candidate.
- Have a genuine commitment to working as part of a team within a caring environment.
Desirable Skills
- Availability to cover annual leave and absence for full-time Cook.
