Job description

To assist the Playgroup Leader in providing safe, high quality education and care for children aged between 3 years and 4 years olds. Term Time (Starting August 2026-June 2027 with possibility of extension to following year)

Responsibilities

• Help ensure that the playroom is appropriately laid out before the session commences and is tidied up after the session ends. Ensure good standards of hygiene are followed and that equipment is safe and regularly checked as recommended in DHSSPS guid
• Carry out regular observations and records as a key worker.
• Assist in the planning and preparation of activities offered throughout the session.
• Listen to, encourage, enable, stimulate and ensure the safe keeping of the children.
• Support the leader in ensuring that there is a safe, caring and welcoming environment for children and their families.
• Keep strictly confidential any personal information regarding the children, their families or other staff which is learnt as part of the job.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Level 3 qualification in CCLD or equivalent.
• Knowledge of the Pre-School Curriculum.
• Food Hygiene

Desirable Skills

• Previous experience in an Early Years setting.
• Up to date Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene and safeguarding training.
• Allergy Training
