Can you provide strategic, operational and therapeutic leadership for MACS’ developing counselling and therapeutic provision for young people aged 16 to 25 experiencing homelessness, housing instability, trauma, emotional distress and mental health difficulties?
Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and ongoing development of MACS’ counselling and therapeutic services.
- Develop systems, pathways, procedures and referral processes for therapeutic support across MACS services.
- Ensure services operate within trauma-informed, psychologically informed and relational practice frameworks.
- Maintain oversight of counsellor caseloads, availability, waiting lists and service accessibility.
- Ensure counsellors operate in line with the ethical frameworks and professional standards of relevant professional bodies including BACP, UKCP and HCPC where applicable.
- Provide direct line management, leadership and support to Thrive Plus Therapeutic Practitioners.
- Maintain oversight of safeguarding, risk assessment, suicide ideation responses, selfharm management and crisis escalation processes across therapeutic services.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Experience of working therapeutically with young people aged 16 to 25 experiencing mental health difficulties, trauma, emotional distress or housing instability.
- Strong knowledge and experience of safeguarding, risk management and trauma-informed practice
- Ability to develop systems, procedures and quality assurance frameworks.
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
