Job description
We are seeking a Purchasing Assistant to support our Purchasing Manager and help strengthen our procurement, compliance, and stock control systems as the business continues to expand. Assisting with purchase orders, supplier communication, and delivery tracking.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with purchase orders, supplier communication, and delivery tracking. Maintaining accurate purchasing records and documentation.
- Supporting the preparation and submission of import data for goods entering Northern Ireland. Ensuring documentation is complete and accurate for customs purposes.
- Assisting with Intrastat returns for goods exported from Northern Ireland. Maintaining accurate movement and value records.
- Supporting stock monitoring across ingredients, packaging, and finished goods. Assisting with stock reconciliations and reporting discrepancies.
- Assisting with data collection and reporting under the Extended Producer Responsibility programme. Maintaining accurate packaging and materials records.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with spreadsheets and basic systems, handling of documentation and structured data.
- Able to follow procedures accurately and consistently.
Desirable Skills
- Interested in supply chain, purchasing and food manufacturing operations.
- Previous experience in purchasing, administration, logistics, or agri-food is helpful but not essential.
Further Information
This is a hands-on role suited to someone organised, detail-focused, and keen to build experience in food manufacturing, supply chain administration, and regulatory reporting. Full training and guidance will be provided.
