Facilitator
Job description
To successfully coordinate and deliver elements of the HUB programme in relation to young people with learning disabilities, with the aim of empowering young people and improving independence and access to citizenship, training and social inclusion opportunities.
Responsibilities
- To deliver elements of non-accredited and accredited training to the HUB participants working closely with management and awarding bodies to ensure successful accreditation.
- Liaise with other relevant services and agencies in the community, voluntary and statutory sectors to meet the needs of young people with learning disabilities and ensure implementation of the HUB programmes.
- Completion of all relevant preformats and paperwork required for the project, provide regular reports and assist with monitoring and evaluation.
- Assist in the delivery and input of reviews & person centred plans with young people, parents and professionals.
- Offer a listening ear and build positive relationships with young people, parents and staff.
- Direct and manage Learning Support Staff to help deliver programmes and support the Manager to meet other programme outcomes.
- Adhere to Safeguarding, Health and Safety and Confidentiality codes of practice.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, Childcare, Youth Work, Training, Education or equivalent.
- 2 years paid experience coordinating/delivering training to young people with learning disabilities/Autism in a voluntary or statutory sector.
- Experience delivering and assessing accredited qualifications e.g. OCN. Experience working with a range of voluntary, statutory organisations/ employers to deliver appropriate training for young people.
- Knowledge of Safeguarding.
Desirable Skills
- Training or assessment qualification. Computer literate with experience of word, excel & PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of issues affecting young people with disabilities & families. Ability to work on own initiative/ within a team.
Further Information
Location: Northside Village Centre. You will be entitled to 28 days (5.6 weeks) paid holiday in that year (inclusive of statutory days) and pro rata for duration and hours of contract. The organisation closes down for holiday at certain times/on certain days during the year and you are required to take your holidays in line with the HUB timetable.
