Jacksons Catering Equipment Ltd is a leading supplier of commercial catering equipment to the hospitality industry throughout Northern Ireland and beyond. Operating from our professional showroom, warehouse, and distribution centre in Newbuildings, we pride ourselves on delivering quality products and exceptional customer service. We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Stores & Delivery Operative to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied, hands-on role. No two days are the same. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering consumable products to customers, supporting warehouse operations, maintaining customer relationships, and assisting with commercial catering equipment deliveries. This role would suit someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in delivering excellent customer service, and is willing to get involved in all aspects of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering consumable products including cleaning chemicals, blue rolls, catering disposables, and other supplies to customers throughout the Northwest.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers during regular delivery routes.
  • Taking customer orders, identifying opportunities for additional sales, and communicating customer requirements back to the office team.
  • Supporting site deliveries and two-person lifts.
  • Undertaking any other reasonable duties to support the business.
  • Driving company vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes safely and professionally.

  • Picking, packing, and preparing customer orders for dispatch.
  • Loading and unloading delivery vehicles.
  • Maintaining accurate stock levels and assisting with stock control procedures.
  • Manual handling will be an integral part of the role, including the lifting and moving of equipment as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Previous van driving experience.
  • Comfortable with manual handling and lifting.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience driving Luton vans.
  • Experience using tail lifts.
  • Forklift experience (training can be provided).
  • Previous warehouse, stores, or delivery experience.
  • Experience assisting with equipment deliveries.
