Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Deputy Manager to support the Manager in providing high quality care and education. The Deputy will help to ensure smooth running of the Preschool session and support the Manager to provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment. This job role will involve supporting the daily routine, supervising practitioners, contributing to planning, evaluation and delivering the Preschool Curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Support children's learning by listening, encouraging and enabling exploration.
• Carryout daily risk assessments in line with DHSSPS.
• Complete daily observations, assessments to support the children's needs.
• Ensure the Preschool room is set up each day for the children and maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
• Ensure children's safety, wellbeing and supervision at all times.
• Work as part of a team.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Level 5 Early Years qualification.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
• Designated Safeguarding training Working knowledge and general level of computer literacy skills.
• Minimum of two years paid working experience in a Preschool funded setting.
• Good understanding of child development and the Preschool Curriculum.
• Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures.
• Food safety and Allergy awareness training.
• Safeguarding training.
