General Operative
Job description
Our client, based in Newtownards, is currently looking for dependable General Operators to join their team. As a General Operator, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth operations within a food production environment. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual who can work independently and efficiently to meet production goals while maintaining high-quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Help maintain a safe working environment within the Stores and Production areas and make sure all current Health and Safety legislation is observed.
- Lifting off goods, checking, labelling and packaging.
- To assist in the stores with deliveries and movement of goods in and out.
- To carry out basic house-keeping duties.
- Produce sample boxes of product to send out to potential customers that supports sales and encourages new business.
- To be aware of and adhere to company Quality Management System.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Attention to detail.
- Health and safety awareness in a factory setting.
- Ability to follow instruction and work independently when required.
- Basic knowledge of computers and knowledge and understanding of hygiene standards expected in food production.
- Experience working in food production.
- Ability to manually lift products of varying weights.
- Ability to operate a packing line to the required efficiency and quality standard (once fully trained).
Desirable Skills
- Training in food hygiene, manual handling training.
- FLT licence.
