Support Worker (Student Placement Opportunity)
Job description
You’ll play a central role in supporting individuals to live independently, make empowered decisions, and take pride in their own space and life goals. The main function off the role is to assist the team in providing the highest possible standard of support to Service Users by actively promoting and implementing Recovery by using a strengths based person centred approach. Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a trusting and professional relationship with Service Users and act in a supportive and empathetic manner towards them.
- Contribute towards a harmonious and therapeutic environment.
- Support Service Users to manage their physical health, mental health and wellbeing through the development and implementation of an individual support plan.
- Involve Service Users in all aspects of decision making and be sensitive to difficulties encountered by Service Users.
- Deliver care and support within the context of a social inclusion and recovery approach which is designed to work with people to find and maintain hope, re-establish a positive identity, build a meaningful life and take responsibility and control.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- To be willing to work various shifts which may include days, nights, evenings and weekends.
- Experience of supporting an individual with household tasks and/or providing emotional support.
- An interest in working with people within a care environment.
