Job description

The job holder must be able to neatly pack our products (e.g. sausages, burgers, mince, chicken) cleanly and hygienically using our packing equipment. The job holder must maintain a clean work station, and clear up and wash up all equipment and dishes at the end of their shift. The responsibilities of the job include cleaning equipment, cleaning cold stores, cleaning work areas and packing areas.

Responsibilities

• Packing meat products (e.g. steaks, chicken, burgers, mince, etc) cleanly and hygienically using our vacuum packing equipment.
• Weighing and measuring products to pack correct weights in each pack.
• Labelling products correctly using pre-formatted labels, produced using labelling system and printer.
• Storing products in the correct areas in cold stores.
• Cleaning product preparation and packing areas at the end of the shift.
• Complying with safe food handling requirements.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• One year's experience in the food and catering industry for example in a cafe, deli, fast food counter, waiter/waitressing, butchery.
• Authorisation to work in the United Kingdom.
• Ability to travel to our location in Killyleagh/Crossgar near Downpatrick.

Desirable Skills

• Safe Food Handling certificate is desirable.
• A catering or food service qualification would be helpful.

Salary: £13.65 per hour for employees aged 21 years and over. We are looking for a person with a can-do attitude to join our small, friendly team to help us grow our fast growing online meat business. Pheasants Hill is located near Killyleagh, Crossgar, Saintfield and Downpatrick and is located on a bus route. We supply sustainable free range, healthy, high quality meat products to customers in Ireland and UK.
